MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful completion of approved Certified Nursing Assistant training program.
- Current certification and registration with the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
- Criminal history clearance.
- Knowledge about child development and childhood care and education.
- Valid driver’s license, driving record acceptable to agency carrier, and own transportation.

$21.70 - $28.55 - Placement determined by experience per the negotiated LESPA Contract.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) works under the direction of the program’s registered nurse. The CNA provides assistance to students experiencing illness and injury. The CNA performs delegated nursing tasks and may be the primary point of contact with the Registered Nurse for the classroom team. The CNA supports students with daily activities, including medication administration, feeding, mobility, and personal hygiene
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists the designated teacher(s) with individual and group supervision and behavior management of students.
- Assists in developing and carrying out individual programs of instruction and support for designated students under the direct supervision of the teacher.
- Observes, collects data, and records student progress.
- Assists with individual student testing.
- Supervises setting up and clean-up before and after activities.
- Prepares and organizes instructional materials as directed, including bulletin boards.
- Prepares and operates audio-visual equipment as needed.
- Assists with student supervision as needed.
- Participates in staffing or parent meetings as directed.
- Assists parents and community members as needed.
- Participates in district classified assistant staff development program activities.
- Transports students in district vehicles for class-related activities.
- May be required to transport students to and from school under a Type 10 Driver Certification.
- Works harmoniously with others and communicates effectively (both orally and in writing) with students, parents, and staff.
- Frequent and prolonged talking/hearing conversations.
